Deputy Mayor Ratna Lama of Gujra Municipality in Rautahat was assaulted in her office premises. The incident of Monday's assault was made public by Deputy Mayor Lama only on Tuesday. She has filed a complaint with the police demanding action against those involved in the incident. Her vehicle was vandalized in the incident.

On Monday, Deputy Chief Lama, who had come to the office for field monitoring, was assaulted by an unknown person near the Lamaha bridge in Gujra Municipality. The vehicle bearing the number Province 2-03-001 Jha 0021 in which she was travelling was vandalized. After that, 20/25 women who came in an e-rickshaw assaulted Deputy Chief Lama, who had come to the office.

‘They stopped the vehicle on the road in the afternoon and assaulted her. They even broke the window of the vehicle,’ she said, ‘A crowd of women came inside the office for no reason and assaulted me. I have filed a complaint with the police for action against the perpetrators.’ After stopping the vehicle on the road, the man who came in an e-rickshaw abused her, asking why she had not given them fertilizer in the first place. Deputy Chief Lama has alleged that the attack was initiated by Mayor Santalal Prasad Chaudhary. Mayor Chaudhary said that he was not involved in the assault on the Deputy Chief.
