Parsa Police on Wednesday made public the identities of three members of a gang involved in motorcycle theft. All three are 19-year-old youths.
The arrested are Sahil Kumar Rauniyar, 19, and Shyambabu Thakur, 19, of Birgunj Metropolitan City-13, Sripur, and Roshan Kumar Gupta, 19, of Sugauli, East Champaran district, Bihar, India, currently residing in Birgunj-13. A stolen motorcycle has also been recovered from them.
On Magh 5 at 8:30 pm, a patrol team deployed from the Ward Police Office, Sripur, arrested Sahil Kumar Rauniyar while he was driving a motorcycle suspiciously. During the inspection of the motorcycle and his body, it was found that the motorcycle did not have a rear number plate, did not have a key, the front wires were cut, and the motorcycle had an Indian number plate BR 05 AQ 6924 on the front.
After police interrogation, Rauniyar admitted that he and two other friends had stolen the motorcycle from the Birgunj-13 Drishti Eye Hospital area at night and hidden it in Thakur's room. Police have recovered two more stolen motorcycles from them. Parsa Police Spokesperson DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet informed that an investigation is underway by obtaining permission for a seven-day extension of their remand for theft and robbery.
