Police have taken four people, including two Indian nationals, into custody while they were traveling from Ramgopalpur to Bardibas on a motorcycle carrying drugs on the Bardibas-Jaleshwor road section.
A police team under the command of Police Inspector Ramesh Lama of the Gaushala Police Office seized 1,436 ampoules of banned drugs hidden in black plastic bags, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Shailendra Kumar Bhatta of the District Police Office, Mahotari.
On Sunday evening, the police, who were jointly mobilized by the Gaushala Police Office, Area Police Office, Ramgopalpur and the Narcotics Control Bureau Branch Office, Bardibas, seized the banned drugs hidden in motorcycles with Indian registration numbers BR 30 AQ 2285 and BR 30W 0324 coming towards Bardibas via the Bardibas-Jaleshwor road section in Aurahi Municipality-1, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhatta.
The police said that both the motorcycle drivers are Nepali and the passenger is an Indian citizen. Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhatta said that 21-year-old Shesh Tanbir and 21-year-old Musahidul Islam of Mahottari Samsi Rural Municipality-6, 22-year-old Raju Kumar and 21-year-old Arvind Kumar Mandal of Sitamarhi Vela Police Station-6, Bihar, India, were arrested along with the drugs.
The police said that the seized drugs, motorcycle and all four arrested persons have been kept at the Area Police Office, Gaushala, and further investigation is underway.
