Relatives and locals of Sunita Syangbo, a hotel employee who was found dead at the Trishala Hotel in Birgunj's Old Bus Park on November 11, protested in Birgunj on Wednesday, demanding an investigation into the death of the hotel employee and action against the culprits.

Relatives and villagers of 21-year-old Syangbo of Jhabaraha, Parsagarhi Municipality-3, have staged a protest in Birgunj demanding an investigation into the incident and action against the culprits.

The protesters, who had reached the District Administration Office from in front of the District Police Office shouting slogans, had returned from there and gathered in an empty plot of Lalbangla in front of the District Police Office after seeing the main gate of the administration office closed. Relatives claim that Sunita's body appeared to have been strangled to death.

Parsa Police Spokesperson DSP Raju Karki said that three people working at the hotel were taken into custody and questioned during the investigation. He said that discussions are underway with the relatives of the deceased. DSP Karki said that the body of the deceased girl has been sent to the Teaching Hospital Maharajgunj, Kathmandu for an autopsy.
