Police have arrested four people from Birgunj with banned drugs. The Parsa police made them public at a press conference on Friday.
Those arrested are Yubaraj Patel, 20, and Afzal Dewan, 21, of Ramgarhwa, Birgunj Metropolitan City-24, Ramhari Magar, 19, of Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-6, Dhading, and Rajkumar Magarati, 19, of Sidlekh Rural Municipality-7, Dhading.
Based on a special information, a team deployed from Ward Police Office Shreepur Birgunj arrested them with banned drugs from an EV vehicle (Bagmati Pradesh 08-001 Ja 0117) parked in front of the ticket counter at Pratima Chowk, Birgunj-15 at 6 pm on Tuesday. They had hidden the drugs inside a suitcase. The drugs seized were 60,530 capsules of Tramadol Hydrochloride.
After investigation, 15,640 capsules of drugs were seized from their den in Ramgarhwa, Birgunj Metropolitan City-24. A total of 76,170 capsules of drugs were seized from them. Parsa Police Spokesperson DSP Raju Karki has informed that further investigation is underway after obtaining permission from the Parsa District Court to extend the remand of the accused for seven days for drug-related offenses.
