Yadav appointed as Chief Minister of Madhesh

On Friday evening, Provincial Chief Surendra Lav Karna appointed him as the Chief Minister in accordance with Clause (2) of Article 168 of the Constitution.

Yadav appointed as Chief Minister of Madhesh

Krishna Prasad Yadav has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Madhesh Province. On Friday evening, Province Chief Surendra Lav Karna appointed him as the Chief Minister in accordance with Clause (2) of Article 168 of the Constitution.

Currently, there are 104 provincial assembly members in Madhesh Province. Out of which, Yadav had submitted his claim with the support of 77 provincial assembly members.

Yadav has been appointed as the sixth Chief Minister of Madhesh Province. The Yadav-led government has been supported by MPs from JSP, Janamat, LSP, Maoist, CPN-S and Nagarik Unmuktika.

After Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav resigned last Wednesday, Provincial Chief Karna had called for the formation of a new government. The seven-party alliance had agreed to make Yadav of the Congress the Chief Minister today after a long tussle.

The newly appointed Chief Minister Yadav said that one minister each from all the parties would also take oath with him. He said that the finalization of the remaining ministers would be done after a vote of confidence was taken.

Earlier in Madhesh, Lalbabu Raut, Saroj Kumar Yadav (Bara), Satish Kumar Singh, Jitendra Prasad Sonal, Saroj Kumar Yadav (Mahottari) has assumed the responsibility of Chief Minister.
