Eleven borders connected to Mahottari district will be closed for 72 hours starting today, targeting the assembly elections to be held in the Indian state of Bihar next Tuesday.

In a bid to ensure peace and security, Mahottari Chief District Officer Indradev Yadav said that all borders connected to Mahottari will be closed from 6 pm today to 6 pm on Kartik 25, targeting the second phase of elections to various assembly seats in the Indian state of Bihar.  

The District Administration Office, Mahottari, has issued a notice informing that movement, except for humanitarian emergency services, will be completely closed at the Nepal-India border for peace and security management.
