In view of the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections in India, the Rautahat District Administration Office has announced that movement along the Nepal-India border will be closed from 6:00 pm on Saturday, November 22.
The letter signed by Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal states that since the second phase of the assembly elections is going to be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the border of Rautahat, which is connected to Sitamarhi and East Champaran districts, will be completely closed except for emergency services from 6:00 pm on Saturday to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 11.
After the coordination meeting regarding the Nepal-India border area, it has been a practice to seal the border 72 hours before the elections to be held in the two countries. Accordingly, Assistant Chief District Officer of the District Administration Office Kiranidhi Tiwari informed that the movement in the Nepal-India border area will be completely closed to ensure that the elections are held peacefully.
