Businessmen protest against police for causing unnecessary suffering

The Janakpurdham market has been closed in protest against the Dhanusha police. Businessmen have protested, saying the police have caused unnecessary suffering. Businessmen have also announced a protest organized by the Janakpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The businessmen have closed their shops till 12 noon today. They have been demanding action against Dhanusha Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganesh Bahadur Bam and Ghumwa Police Assistant Inspector Manoj Kumar Yadav, among others, for illegally conducting a raid on the gold and silver market on Asoj 11.
The businessmen have complained that the police were oppressing and intimidating the businessmen in the incident that took place at the gold and silver market that day. The association's acting president Manoj Kumar Sah informed that they did not take any interest despite submitting a memorandum to the Chief District Officer of Dhanusha and the DIG of Madhes Province.
The businessmen are protesting in phases. Earlier, they had operated their businesses on Saturday, Sunday and Monday by tying black flags and black bands on their shops, but they have closed their shops till 12 noon today.
On Asoj 11, a clash broke out between the businessmen and the police when the police went to raid a gold and silver shop in Janakpurdham. After the clash, the businessmen pelted stones. After that, tension arose when the police lathi-charged. The police fired tear gas and fired in the air. Surendra Bhandari, the president of the Janakpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and others were injured in the police lathicharge.
