When the outgoing Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Satish Kumar Singh, reached the state election office Janakpurdham to choose his party, both parties shouted slogans. When he reached the office on Wednesday afternoon to choose the Janamat Party, which was formed after breaking away from the Janamat Party, slogans were raised.
Janmat Party leaders/activists raised slogans against him, while CPN-UML and Nepali Congress supporters raised slogans of 'Long live the Chief Minister'. Although Janmat leaders planned to prevent him from entering the election office, the police and Congress/UML leaders used force to force Singh's vehicle into the election office. There was a brief scuffle between the two parties.
Outgoing Chief Minister Singh and Provincial Assembly member Tribhuvan Sah have signed the Janaswaraj Party, formed by splitting from the Janmat Party. This will add one more party to the provincial assembly. Earlier, there were 10 parties in the provincial assembly.
