A newborn baby was found in the paddy field of Jaleshwar Municipality-4 here this afternoon.
According to Shailendra Bhatt, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, a 15/16-day-old male infant was found alive in a paddy field near Bhargwasar Pond at around 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
Locals who went to cut grass in the forest informed the police after seeing the baby, who was wearing light blue clothes and wrapped in a pink cloth.
The police immediately took the baby to Jaleshwar Provincial Hospital for medical examination and it is said that the baby is completely healthy and safe. The police have proceeded with the investigation regarding who the baby belongs to.
