More than 3,000 houses of Tilathi Koiladi in Saptari were flooded when the flood of Jita River and Khado river entered the settlement.

All the five wards of Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality have been flooded. According to Rajesh Kumar Jha, disaster coordinator of the rural municipality, when the dam of Khando Khola was cut in Ward No. 2 Launia, the flood spread throughout the village, while a house was destroyed in Ward No. 4 Ramtol. Ward No. 3 Sakarpura settlement, 75 houses have been inundated due to flood.

He said that 18 houses were heavily damaged when the Jita river flooded in Sardar Tol of Ward No. 7 and some families were rescued by security personnel and local youth and moved to higher ground.  

The flood has caused the most damage in Ward No. 5 Bersain. According to Ward President Lalan Raut, around 200 houses have been flooded in the area. The rescue work of the flood victims is going on.
