The police have detained two women from Uzbekistan who were going to India via Saptari. 39-year-old Feruza Yakhsimuratova and 39-year-old Shokhista Akbarova from Uzbekistan, who were going to India through Belhi crossing, were detained on Saturday evening.
The police team on patrol checked them on the back of a motorcycle number BR 07 AY 1876 going towards India in Balan Bihul rural municipality-4 Belhi of the district.
DSP Jitendra Kumar Basnet informed that both of them who were sitting on the motorcycle driven by 20-year-old Nitish Kumar Vinda of Lalmania Dumarbana in Madhubani, Bihar, were taken into custody after the necessary documents including passports were not found with them.
"Even though they said that they are staying in a hotel in Kathmandu, both of them do not have the necessary documents including their passports," he said, "We are also coordinating with the hotel as they are saying that the passports and documents were left at the hotel." DSP Basnet said that an investigation is underway. The police said that the motorcycle driver Vinda is also being interrogated.
