A woman has died due to lightning in Siraha. 50-year-old Sulena Devi Mandal of Jogia Toll, Siraha Municipality-19, died on the spot after being struck by lightning on Sunday afternoon.
According to Birendra Kumar Paswan, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Siraha, Mandal was cutting grass in his field when lightning struck.
Information officer Paswan said, 'It has been confirmed that he died on the spot after being struck by lightning that occurred with the sudden change of weather.' He asked the local residents to be cautious, saying that there is an increase in lightning incidents every year during the monsoon.
