At a time when the risk of cholera is increasing, Birganj Metropolitan Municipality has started monitoring hotels and meat shops. On Tuesday, the joint team of the metropolis checked the cleanliness of hotels and meat shops in Murli, water tank, bus park and Nagwa areas.
During the monitoring, cleanliness, cleanliness of drinking water, safe storage, refrigerated meat, fish, eggs and other food items were inspected in the shops and hotels. The team warned businessmen to pay special attention to health and hygiene.
A joint team of the Animal Services Branch, the Environment Branch and the Metropolitan Police Force conducted the monitoring as per the instructions of Rajeshman Singh, the head of the metropolis. Singh pointed out the need for businessmen to be responsible to prevent the spread of cholera and said that regular monitoring will be continued.
The metropolis has also conducted public awareness programs, testing of contaminated water, sanitation of infected areas and door-to-door campaigns through health workers to control cholera. Residents have been asked to boil water and drink, eat only clean food and pay attention to personal hygiene.
