The employees of Bateshwar Rural Municipality of Dhanusha are sitting on an indefinite dharna. The health workers sat on a dharna, taking action against those who assaulted and misbehaved with the workers.

It is alleged that on 23rd July, Sunita Singh, working at Bateshwar Rural Municipality-5 Shantipur health post, was assaulted by locals Dara Singh, Ali Hussain and Ravi Mandal. It is mentioned in the memorandum submitted by the employees to the District Administration Office Dhanusha that Ankit Singh and Hussain threatened them after that incident.

Rajkumar Mahata, the in-charge of Shantipur health post informed that the Sarmpoon health workers of the rural municipality have been on an indefinite sit-in since last Monday, demanding three points in the same incident. He demanded that the employees should take action against the abusers, guarantee security and work in a fear-free environment.  According to him, there was a dispute about moving the peepal tree at the main gate of Shantipur health post.

When the employees tried to move the Peepal plant after agreeing with the municipality, the accused came and assaulted them. The employees also drew attention to the Chief District Officer of Dhanusha Shankarhari Acharya and the District Police Office of Dhanusha.
