Banjara, president of Madhesh Pradesh Federation of Journalists, general secretary Kranti, journalists Divakar Rai and Anil Kumar Nirala were injured in the beating of lawyers affiliated to the Nepal Bar Association on Tuesday.
The lawyers assaulted the journalists including Shyam Banjara, President of Madhesh Pradesh Federation of Nepal Journalists, General Secretary Shailendra Mahato Kranti.
Banjara, president of Madhesh Pradesh Federation of Journalists, general secretary Kranti, journalists Divakar Rai and Anil Kumar Nirala were injured in the beating of lawyers affiliated to the Nepal Bar Association on Tuesday. Secretary General Kranti informed that his leg bone was broken. According to him, the lawyers attacked the journalists when the Federation of Journalists Madhes Pradesh started putting fences on the land leased from the Guthi organization.
The state committee of the Federation of Journalists has leased four plots of land located in Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan city-4 from Guthi Sansthan for 20 years. Preparations are being made to build a provincial committee building on that land. But the lawyers are claiming that it is their parking lot. General Secretary Kranti said that on July 19, there was an agreement with the Guthi Institute of the Federation for 4 plots of land.
He said that the notice for 3 plots of land was published in Gorkhapatra on 7th of June and various federations submitted proposals and after submitting technical and financial proposals, the proposal filled by the federation was passed.
General Secretary Kranti said that Guthi Sansthan had published a notice in Gorkhapatra on July 2 that the Federation had got the land after the proposal submitted by others failed. Guthi said that he had sent a letter to agree on the sale of land on July 9, and the agreement was signed on July 19.
