Santosh Kumar Basnet, Chief of Armed Police Force Rautahat and Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Basnet informed that there has been a significant increase in the seizure of customs evasion goods with the increased activity of the Armed Police last year. 

'In the last year alone, we have seized vehicles from Scorpio cars to bicycles worth 20 million 31 lakh 47 thousand,' he said.

According to the armed police, one Scorpio and one Safari vehicle were seized last year. Similarly, 180 motorcycles including one Bolero, Magic and Autorickshaw were seized and handed over to Gaur Customs Office. Armed Police Superintendent Basnet also informed that the source of Rs 48 lakh 17 thousand 110 was recovered last year. 

Similarly, during the same period, nine lakh 49 thousand 449 Indian rupees, the source of which was not disclosed, were also recovered. The Armed Police said that last year, 693 cubic feet of wood was seized and handed over to the Divisional Forest Office, Rautahat.

According to Armed Police Superintendent Basnet, 406 cartons of alcohol worth five lakh 51 thousand 825 were seized last year. During the same period, 850 kilograms of fish, 1,249 kilograms of boiler chickens, 16 cows, buffaloes and padapadi have also been recovered. 

Similarly, the Armed Police Force in Rautahat District has also recovered Rs. Superintendent of Police Basnet informed that the armed police are fulfilling their responsibilities through eight more security base camps in Rautahat, where there are five 'border outposts' on the southern border.
