18 passengers were injured in a bus accident at Ishwarpur in Sarlahi on East West Highway. On Friday evening, passenger bus No. G1K 9494 coming from Janakpur to Malangwa met with an accident near Ishwarpur Municipality-4 Lachka.
According to Chief Inspector Rajosh Ghimire of the District Traffic Police Office, 18 passengers on board the bus were injured in the accident.
In the accident, 28-year-old Udit Sah of Dhanusha Hanspur Municipality-2, 27-year-old Chandadevi Sah of Kshireshwarnath Municipality-5, 38-year-old Harishankar Sah of Sabala Municipality-2, 35-year-old Manjukumari Mahato of Mithila Municipality-1, his 10-year-old son Ashish Kumar and five-year-old Shusan Kumar were injured.
In the same accident, 68-year-old Rampukar Mukhia of Sarlahi Kavilasi Municipality-8, 25-year-old Sumitradevi Mahato of the same place, 45-year-old Jataran Mahato of Malangwa Municipality-12, 65-year-old Sakhia Mahato, 24-year-old Renuka Gautam of Lalbandi Municipality, 33-year-old Munika Kumari Sharma of Kabilasi Municipality-3, 24-year-old Dhiraj Kumar Thakur of Haripur Municipality-7 30-year-old Birjana Singh, 45-year-old Rita Chaudhary of Haripur Municipality-9 was injured.
39-year-old Kamalakumari Mahato of Bardibas Municipality-7 of Mahottari district, her son Ashish Kumar Mahato, 14-year-old and four-year-old Shrisha Pokhrel of Bardibas Municipality-1 were injured in the accident, police said.
The injured in the accident are being treated at Model Hospital Lalbandi, Sarlahi Lifeline Hospital in Nawalpur and Shubhswatik Hospital Bardibas. Police inspector Ghimire informed quoting hospital sources that all of them are out of danger. Acting Spokesperson of District Police Office Sarlahi, Balisthar Singh informed that the police are investigating after taking control of the vehicle and the driver.
