The Ministry of Energy, Irrigation and Drinking Water of Madhesh Province has decided on eight points including providing relief to high-risk communities in drought-affected areas.
Under the chairmanship of Acting Secretary of the Ministry, Ram Kumar Khang, the meeting held here on Tuesday with development partners and representatives of thematic areas under the Ministry decided on various eight points. The
meeting has decided to map the capacity and work area of the development partner and submit it to the committee within two days, identify the communities and families that are at high risk and provide immediate relief, and take necessary actions in cooperation and coordination with the local level and district disaster management committee .
Similarly, if there is a need to install deep boring and shallow tube wells, it has been decided to give priority so that there is no duplication and for that, to coordinate with the Disaster Management Committee, to emphasize the implementation of long-term plans of private, development partners and the government in the promotion of alternative agriculture . In addition, Acting Secretary Khang informed about the decisions that have been made, including emphasis on the conservation and promotion of Chure, preparation of a disaster management and response plan for drought-affected areas within seven days and submitted to the committee.
