A laborer who was constructing a culvert on the agricultural road in Aurhi Municipality-7 of Mahottari died due to electrocution this evening.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shailendra Kumar Bhatt, spokesperson of District Police Office Mahottari, said that the deceased was Chhatu Mukhiya, a 32-year-old laborer living in Ramgopalpur-5 of the district.
Aurhi Napa-7 Voyal Nimkia village, a laborer who was constructing a culvert on the agricultural road, Chhatu died of electrocution when an electric wire fell on his body, said Roshan Kumar Yadav, an eyewitness.
Locals and victims' families have alleged that the incident occurred due to the negligence of the electricity authority. Spokesman of the District Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhatt said that the police reached the scene of the incident and are preparing to send the body to the hospital for the autopsy.
