13 municipalities of Saptari could not bring the budget

The 13 local levels of Saptari have not been able to bring the budget for the next financial year within the stipulated time.

Here, four municipalities have not yet started the process for town/village assemblies, while 9 municipalities have not been able to bring the budget even after presenting policies and programs.

Rajviraj, Dakneshwari and Hanumannagar Kankalini municipalities have not started the process for assembly. In Agnisair Krishnasavaran rural municipality, even when the village assembly was called on Monday, the members of the assembly did not attend. In Khadak and Shambhunath Municipalities and Tirhut, Mahadeva, Bishnupur and Chinnamasta Municipalities, a few days ago they inaugurated the meeting and presented the policy and program, but the matter of bringing the budget has not been decided. Surunga, Saptakoshi and Kanchanrup Municipalities have started the meeting, but they have not been able to submit it till 8 pm.

One municipality and four rural municipalities here have prioritized the agricultural sector in the budget. Bode Barsain Municipality and Balan Bihul, Tilathi Koiladi, Rupni and Rajgarh have brought the specified time-bound budget. Bode Barsain Municipality has brought a budget of 92 crore 21 lakh 7 thousand rupees. This municipality has brought targeted budgets for agriculture, employment, health, education, and the poor. Balan Bihul Rural Municipality has also prioritized agriculture and employment while bringing a budget of Rs 54 crore 38 lakh 28 thousand for the coming year.

Similarly, Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality has budgeted Rs 43 crore 84 lakh 19 thousand, Rupani Rural Municipality Rs 48 crore 55 lakh 43 thousand 431 and Rajgarh Rural Municipality has also given priority to the agricultural sector when bringing a budget of Rs 49 crore 15 lakh 77 thousand 663 for the coming year.
