In Gaushala municipality of Mahottari, the dispute between mayor and deputy mayor has been settled. Chief District Officer (PRA) Narayan Prasad Risal said that the all-party meeting held at District Administration Office Mahottari on Saturday agreed on three points to settle the dispute.
Chief District Officer Risal said that three points were agreed upon between the representatives of the political parties available in Jaleshwar, Gaushala Municipality Mayor Dr. Dipendra Mahato, Deputy Mayor Renukumari Mahato and the heads of the security agencies.
The Deputy Chief informed the meeting verbally that he had submitted a complaint to the Central Office of the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission as a complaint, Prazia Risal said that it was agreed that the municipality would coordinate with the relevant agencies to obtain the registered challan book, arrange for the deputy chief's office to operate in the same room as the former in the municipal building, and make arrangements for the deputy chief to work in a safe and dignified manner. It has been agreed in an all-party meeting that both sides of the incident during the
dispute will conduct self-examination and carry out their respective responsibilities in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations in the future. Risal said that the political parties and all the people's representatives have expressed their commitment to maintain peace and security in the district and conduct development activities.
The conflict escalated after Deputy Mayor Mahato took control of the registered challan of Gaushala municipality. After the deputy mayor took control of the registered invoice, his office was locked. In the all-party meeting that lasted for 7 hours on Saturday, there was a discussion about coordinating the mayor and deputy mayor to conduct daily work, the participants said.
