Parsa police have arrested four people involved in drug opium smuggling.

Those arrested are 40-year-old Vinod Giri of Patervasugauli rural municipality-4, 33-year-old Pradeep Chaudhary of the same rural municipality-5, 28  year-old  Sunil Kumar Srivastava and 34    Rameshwar Raut is. The police arrested them from Birgunj Metropolitan City-10 Rajatjayanti Chowk at half past one on Wednesday afternoon.

Ward Police Office Veerta and Narcotics Control Bureau  Branch Parsa, during the regular checking team, after seeing a bag suspiciously held by Rameshwar Raut and Vinod Giri, who was riding a motorcycle numbered Na 46 P 2540 and Na 40 P 6469, and the back rider Vinod Giri were suspiciously holding a bag in the middle of the motorcycle, they found one kilo of drug opium hidden in a plastic bag wrapped with tape in the bag.

Chaudhary and Srivastava who were riding in another motorcycle were also involved in drug smuggling, Parsa police spokesperson DSP Kishore Lamsal has informed that they have also been arrested and action has been initiated. He said that the arrestees are being investigated for drug-related offenses after obtaining permission from the district court for five days.
