The Acting Mayor of Rajviraj Municipality of Saptari, Israt Parveen, has filed a complaint against the suspended mayor, saying that there was vandalism and beating of employees.

On Monday, she went to the district police office and filed a complaint against the suspended mayor Bhimraj Yadav and others for unauthorized occupation and destruction of public and physical structures and criminal nuisance.

Manoj Kumar Yadav, head of planning branch of the municipality, Sudhir Yadav of Ward No. 9, Gajendra Yadav known as Gajju of 7 and 25/30 persons have been demanded to be arrested immediately and action taken against them.

A week ago, a controversy broke out in the municipality after the chief administrative officer of the deputy secretary level (Dr. Shravan Kumar Sah) was transferred and the employee of the education branch (Bhogendra Prasad Yadav) was given a place. At the end of the fiscal year, the suspended Mayor Yadav and others had locked the municipality and staged a dharna, alleging that it was an instrument for corruption.

Last Tuesday, the protest broke out with the help of the police and the acting chief administrative officer took charge. After breaking the lock, he became angry and ransacked the municipality and even beat up Accounts Officer Shatrudhanlal Das.

After the vandalism and beating, on the same day, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration sent a chief administrative officer of the deputy secretary level to the municipality, and the dispute was resolved when both sides discussed until late at night and agreed on three points. However, locals say that the development work in the municipality may be affected due to the fact that Yadav, the head of the planning branch, has also been charged, demanding action according to section 6 of the Civil Code of Criminal Procedure 2074.

SP Dhakendra Khatiwada said that according to the complaint received from the municipality, the investigation has started.
