Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality has decided to close the school for six days after the excessive heat did not subside.
Earlier, the metropolis had decided to give summer vacation for two days on May 29 and 30. Even though the holiday is over, since the temperature here has not decreased, it has been decided to give school holidays from June 1st to June 6th.
Anand Lamichhane, head of the educational administration division of Birganj metropolis, said that in view of the increasing heat for the past few days, it has been decided to suspend teaching in community and institutional schools from June 1 to June 6 to minimize the adverse effects on children's health. "The leave was given to be matched with the annual betting leave", he said.
