One person was arrested with undisclosed amount of 1.3 lakh cash near the customs check point of Birganj customs office.
19-year-old Rahul Kumar Tiwari of Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality-2 Chhapkaiya, who was riding an Indian motorcycle number BR 05 AT 0475 coming from India to Nepal, was arrested by a team deployed from the Armed Police Force, Nepal Proposed Border Security Gulm Birgunj at the customs check point located in Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality-16. He had brought the amount hidden in the air filter box of the motorcycle.
The police suspect that the money recovered from Tiwari may have been smuggled. Tiwari along with the motorcycle has been handed over to Birgunj Customs Office for further investigation and action.
on Friday Another team deployed from the same Gulm arrested 40-year-old Kaushal Kumar Gupta, resident of Bara Prasauni Rural Municipality-2, who was coming from India towards Nepal from India towards Nepal near the customs gate located in Birganj-16, along with 5 lakh cash. He also brought money illegally by hiding it in different parts of his body.
DSP Devendra Bahadur Singh informed that Gupta was also taken into custody and handed over to the Birgunj Customs Office for further investigation and action.
