The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission has filed a case in a special court against 10 people, including the then president of the rural municipality, and various goods supplier companies on the charge of corruption during the installation of solar lights in Chakraghatta Rural Municipality of Sarlahi.

In the financial year 2078/79, a budget of 20.16 million rupees was allocated for the installation of solar lights for wards no. 1 to 9 of the rural municipality. It has been found that five packages have been cut and broken into pieces for the purchase and installation of poles, solar panels, lights, wires, nuts, batteries, charge controllers, as opposed to the allocated budget.

More than the allocated budget, the estimate was accepted for Rs. There was competition between only three firms. For that work, the rural municipality paid an amount equal to 2 million 49 lakh 40 thousand 110 rupees to various solar lamp companies.

The commission filed a case in the special court on Thursday against the then president of the rural municipality Vikram Yadav and the then acting chief administrative officer Lalbabu Prasad Sah claiming an amount of Rs 249 lakh 40 thousand 110.

Similarly, similar wrongful demands have been claimed against Accountant Sanjay Kumar Thakur, Jinsi Branch Head Ram Kailash Rai Yadav, Sub-Engineer Santosh Rai and Raju Rai. Similarly, a demand of Rs 47 lakh 49 thousand 560 has been claimed against accounting officer Shivshankar Prasad Kushwaha, Rs 58 lakh 39 thousand 840 against Jaiprakash Yadav, owner of Sky Rise Trading Concern Malangwa Sarlahi.

Similarly,  Devi Prasad Thapalia, Assistant Spokesperson of the Commission informed that a case has been filed against Ranjukumari Sah, owner of SK Stores Malangwa, and against Sangeeta Kumari, owner of Jio Technical and Infrastructure Solutions, claiming an amount equal to Rs. 95,76,360.
