Due to the heat that has been continuously increasing since last week, a two-day holiday has been given to schools in Janakpur. Dhirendra Lal Karn, Head of Education and Sports Development Branch of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City informed that summer vacation was given on May 29th and 30th due to the adverse effect on children's health due to excessive heat.
The Madhes state government has declared Tuesday a public holiday on Wednesday on the occasion of Kabir Jayanti. Therefore, Wednesday is also a holiday in schools in Madhes. At Ram Prasad Secondary School in Sabala Municipality-2 of Dhanusha, students fainted in the classroom on Tuesday due to extreme heat.
According to the school, 20 students studying in different classes fainted due to the heat. Out of which 3 people were admitted to the hospital for treatment. They returned home after normal treatment. Sabala Municipality has also given school holidays after students fainted due to extreme heat.
Madhes has been experiencing increasing heat since last week. The life here has been affected by the strong sun and hot wind since morning. The temperature in Janakpur on Wednesday morning is above 34 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday, the temperature in Janakpur area was 39 degrees Celsius.
