In Rajviraj municipality of Saptari, an accounting officer was beaten up on Tuesday during a protest over the transfer of the chief administrative officer. Shatrudhanlal Das, an accounting officer, was beaten up in the municipal office premises.

Das has been admitted to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital Rajviraj for treatment. He said that he was beaten on the instructions of the suspended Mayor Bhimraj Yadav. "When Yadav was giving instructions, 4/5 people beat him up, they also took away the gold Sikri," he said. 

The suspended Mayor Yadav, who is sitting on a sit-in in the municipality by locking up the deputy secretary-level chief administrative officer for corruption, said that Acting Mayor Israt Parvin and his staff tried to beat him up.
