Former Chief Minister of Madhesh Province Lal Babu Raut has requested to restart education insurance for daughters. Addressing the Provincial Assembly meeting on Thursday, he said that the important schemes implemented by the previous government should be continued.
"It should not be very important for those who eat it, it should not be a large amount. But think about that person, who is poor, Dalit, destitute," he said, "whose daughter gets three lakhs as soon as she is born. It will be an important step for social justice, for social reform, for change.
He said that since the previous government had started the plan with a lot of effort and investment, it should be continued. He suggested that the scheme should be continued by keeping a handsome amount in the scheme that is important and related to the poor.
The then Chief Minister Raut started education insurance for daughters, but the program has been stopped after the Corona epidemic. The program was inaugurated by the then President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
