One girl died and one boy was injured when lightning struck the bank of Koshi river in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality-14 Dalba of Saptari.

Zainab Khatun, the 7-year-old daughter of Zahid Khan, a resident of Kerna Panchayat of Samli district of Uttar Pradesh, India, who was living in a temporary shelter to cultivate melons in Bagar, died. On Saturday morning, Zainab fainted when lightning struck the area where Tahara is located. SP Dhakendra Khatiwada informed that by the time Rajviraj was brought to Chhinmasta Hospital for treatment, he had died.

The 7-year-old son of Gulu Khan of Kerna Panchayat, Juvir, who was living in the same place, was also injured when he tried to escape after being frightened by the sound of lightning. The police said that he is being treated at Chinnamasta Hospital.
