Accounts of three industries in Dhanusha that do not pay workers' salaries have been closed. The bank accounts and movable assets of Mahendranagar's Everest Paper Mills Pvt Ltd, Janaki Medical College and Buddh Natural Fertilizers have been frozen.
Divakar Bhujel, head of Labor and Employment Office Janakpurdham, informed that the bank account was frozen because they kept arrears of service facilities including salaries and allowances of labor employees and did not obey the order of the labor court.
He said that accounts and assets were frozen for the purpose of implementing the judgments of the Labor Court. He said that the account will not be operated until the dues of the workers are cleared. The production of Everest Paper Mills has been closed for two years. This industry has about 100 million rupees in arrears of 250 workers. Janaki Medical College and Buddha Natural Fertilizer Industry are in operation.
In the current financial year, 46 labor complaints have been filed in Labor and Employment Office Janakpurdham. 15 of which belong to Everest Paper Mills. The office inspected 112 industrial establishments and monitored the status of implementation of the Labor Act. 112 child labor inspections, 180 labor audit inspections. In this financial year, this office has given work permits to 30,062 people for foreign employment.
