Police and customs have raided a godown where smuggled goods are stored in Siraha's Golbazar. Nepal Police, Armed Police and Customs Office conducted a joint raid on Ma Dhamini Dairy Industry in Golbazar on Thursday evening. According to the police, illegal goods including powdered milk and sugar brought from India were found in the godown.
However, during the raid on the godown, after the gang of smugglers tried to riot by using people, the police and customs team returned after sealing the godown.
Chief Superintendent of Police of District Police Office, Siraha, Anantaram Sharma said that the quantity and value of the goods found in the godown will be confirmed only on Friday. He said that the team of Internal Revenue Office, Lahan will also reach there on Friday and after that the process of legal action will proceed. According to the
source, this gang of smugglers has smuggled powdered milk, sugar and other food items from India in an organized manner and stored them in this godown and brought them to the city including Kathmandu in milk tankers at night.
