On Sunday night, the police arrested an Indian citizen with an undisclosed amount of money from Moulapur Municipality of Rautahat. The police announced the arrested on Monday.
DSP Deepak Kumar Rai informed that 23-year-old Rajkishore Thakur of Motihari Police Station Kundwa Chainpur Gram Panchayat Kharha Chainpur-8 Village Musaharia was arrested along with 10 lakh Nepalese Rupees in Moulapur-6 Patharabudhram on the public road. Thakur was caught by the police during the inspection at the Moulapur dike while returning to Nepal from India with money on a motorcycle bearing the number BR05 AC 9477. DSP Rai said that 600 pieces of one thousand and 800 pieces of five hundred Nepali rupees were found hidden in a bag under the seat of the motorcycle. "We asked Thakur, an Indian citizen, along with the money, for documents to open the source of the money", he said, "As we could not show any documents and reveal the source, we took control and started further investigation." For some time now, the circulation of unopened and fake notes has increased in the border area. They have been transporting money on foot, bicycle or motorcycle.
