The name of the road under the federal government has been decided by the winter session of Gaushala municipality.
From the 13th winter session of the municipality held on 31st of Chaitra, it was decided to place Gore Bahadur Khapangi Marg of the municipal area road in Gaushala on the 26.5 km road section from Maisthan on the East-West Highway through Gaushala to the Nepal-India border Samsi.

Since there is no specific name for the 26.5 km highway to Samsi in Nepal, a decision has been passed to name the highway Gore Bahadur Khapangi Marg within the 26.5 km distance of the road within the jurisdiction of Gaushala municipality, said Rampreet Mahato, city spokesperson of Gaushala municipality.
Maisthan Gaushala Samsi road, which is classified as auxiliary highway, was built with the subsidy of the Government of India and is in the process of being transferred from the postal road to the road division office.
As the road classification and naming law is in the process of being drafted, Mahato said that it is not appropriate for any local level to make any kind of decision regarding the roads under the federal government.
"When the government declared 80 roads as highways, the roads that do not meet the standards were included in the list of highways and some of the roads that are within the standards have not been included in the national highways," said Mahato, the head of postal roads. After the law is made, the road can be named after the union gives it to the state and the state gives it to the local level. Now there is no law.
Maisthan-Gaushala-Samsi road is in the process of being transferred from the post office to the road division. He said that since the roads built by the federal government have to be maintained, efforts are being made to bring them under the authority of the road division.
