The Dalit family did not receive the body for 3 days as the hospital did not pay the required amount for the treatment

The family of the deceased has not been able to pick up the body for three days as the Krishna Hospital in Birgunj did not pay the treatment expenses as requested. On the other hand, the weeping did not stop at the house of the family of the deceased. His family could not find the body of 50-year-old Ran Bahadur Ram Chamar of Kalaiya sub-metropolitan city-2 Awadhapur.

The body has been in the mortuary of Narayani Hospital for three days. Ran Bahadur, who had taken poison at the Krishna Hospital in Birganj, died during treatment on Chait 28 evening, and the hospital sent the body to the Narayani Hospital mortuary. Ran Bahadur was admitted to that hospital on March 12 by his relatives for treatment. Rajnarayan Ram, a relative of the deceased, said that Ran Bahadur died on Chait 28 on the 17th day of treatment. He said that the Krishna Hospital administration has not been able to pick up the dead body for three years after the death certificate was not issued claiming treatment expenses of three and a half lakhs.

"In order to give the certificate and pick up the dead body, there was a discussion between the hospital manager and the police inspector Niroj Chaulagain at the Virta Ward Police Office in Virganj on Friday night and a verbal agreement was reached to give 50,000 immediately and 50,000 after the operation," Rajnarayan, a relative of the deceased, said, "But when he went to collect the death certificate to pick up the body on Saturday, the hospital did not give the certificate to pick up the body because it did not agree."

He said that the police have already completed the investigation. Relatives claim that the patient died on the 17th day of treatment due to negligent treatment by the hospital. The Dalit family of the deceased is very poor.

Ran Bahadur was admitted to the Kalaiya Provincial Hospital by his relatives after consuming poison. Rajnarayan said that after the doctor referred him to Narayani Hospital after the same treatment, the ambulance driver took the patient to Krishna Hospital as there was no room in Narayani.

The mobile phone of Tejnarayan Ram, a relative of the deceased who went to take pictures of the hospital, has been confiscated by the Krishna Hospital administration. Rajnarayan said, "When the bill is made with negligent and haphazard spending on treatment, the hospital sometimes does not give the bill and sometimes does not receive the bill even when the bill is asked for."

Virta Ward Police Inspector Choulagai said that he is coordinating to pick up the dead body after reaching an agreement between the deceased's relatives and the hospital. "The family of the deceased says - we are poor, we cannot pay that much money, the hospital side says - we will not accept it without money," Police Inspector Chaulagai said, "We are making an agreement between them."

Sujit Lama, head of administration of Krishna Hospital, said that the dispute escalated when the family of the deceased refused to pay the treatment expenses and instead started running to the police. ``3 lakh 41 thousand has been spent . To reduce it, things got worse when the deceased's family didn't come with a positive statement,' he said, 'we are trying to get a consent to make a death certificate.'
