An order has been issued to release the village president and former ward president on bail in the incident of atrocities on Dalits in the name of Maha Yagya in Aurhi Rural Municipality-5 of Siraha. The Siraha District Court ordered that they be released on bail of one lakh rupees.
Court branch officer Sameer Kulung informed that the bench of the court judge Vidur Kafle has ordered the village president Shivji Yadav and former ward president Dilip Yadav, who are in police custody, to take a bond of one lakh rupees each and release them from prison.
Now they will be able to sit outside and fight the case. Along with them, a case was filed against Bajranji Baba in the district police office for crimes related to caste discrimination and untouchability. Kulung said that in the case of Bajranji Baba, the deadline will be issued according to the law.
Last February 10, Deepak Mallik's house in the Mahayagyasthal was destroyed by using dozers of the rural municipality. The municipal president and former ward president were arrested on Chait 9.
There is a legal system in which crimes related to caste discrimination and untouchability are punishable by imprisonment from 3 months to 3 years and a fine of 50,000 to 200,000 rupees.
