Madhesh Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh inspected the hotel in Janakpurdham. Chief Minister Singh has started monitoring the hotels after complaints intensified that clean, hygienic and healthy food is not available in some hotels here.

Along with the joint team of the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Food Technology and Quality Control Office Janakpurdham and Home and Small Industries Office, Chief Minister Singh inspected Hotel Janaki View, Hansraj Sweet, Lakshmi Misthann Bhandar and Raghupati Misthann Bhandar in Janakpurdham.

Chief Minister Singh said hotel monitoring has been started with the aim of ensuring the rights of consumers in the production, distribution and consumption of safe and clean food. He said that the related government mechanism will continue to monitor the hotel. During the monitoring, most of the hotels have been instructed to keep the kitchen clean and orderly according to the standards. According to Santosh Sah, Head of Small Industries and Household Office, Janakpurdham, 11 packets of mums without producer's name, product and expiry date were confiscated and destroyed from Hansraj Sweets, while one smelly bucket of vegetables and moth-infested pulses and ten kilos of moth-infested flour from Lakshmi Sweets store were confiscated and destroyed from New Janaki View Hotel.

Head of Small Industries and Domestic Office Janakpurdham Sah informed that ten hotels were monitored in Janakpurdham on Sunday, including four hotels monitored by the Chief Minister's team.
