Holi festival is being celebrated in Janakpur area on Saturday (today). Since the Panchkoshi Parikrama, the last stage of the 15-day religious secondary circumambulation, is only on Friday morning, Janakpur is going to celebrate the Holi festival a day late on Saturday.

Although the weather in Janakpur has been gloomy since morning, the Holi festival participants are enthusiastic. There is a tradition of playing Holi in Janakpur only the day after the 15-day religious cycle is over. Last year too, Janakpur had Holi 3 days later than other places.

Similarly, on the occasion of Holi festival, Madhesh Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has received the title of Mahamurkha Conference organized by Mithila Natya Kala Parishad (MINAP) of Janakpur. President of Minap Prameshwar Jha informed that Chief Minister Singh was given the title of Mahamurkha this year because he took the initiative to remove the insanity in the health sector of Madhesh.

Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan chief Manoj Sah honored Chief Minister Singh with the title of Mahamurkha. Writer and lyricist Siyaram Jha Saras was awarded the title of Patmurkh. Kishori Sah, deputy chief of Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan city, has been honored with the title of Harashankar, and senior journalist Ramrizhan Yadav has been honored with the title of Dhorahashankar.
