Rinku Sada case: Two more people involved in panchayat arrested

Two more people have been arrested in the gang rape and suspicious death of 17-year-old girl Rinku Sada of Bhagwatipur, Navrajpur Rural Municipality-1, Siraha. The arrested are 55-year-old local Kari Sada and 66-year-old Ramdev Sada.

District Police Office, Siraha informed that they were arrested on 25th. DSP Birendra Kumar Paswan, Police Spokesperson of Siraha, said that a detailed investigation is being conducted on them after receiving a deadline from the Siraha District Court. According to the police, they also played a role in the Panchayati work after the

rape incident. Along with them, the number of people arrested in this incident has reached 10 so far.

Earlier, the main accused of rape, Rupesh Mandal and ward member Nathuni Sahahit, involved in the panchayat, along with local Ramkripal Mandal, Vindeshwar Sah, Rajendra Mandal, Chandeshwar Mandal, Ramvinod Mandal and Kamlesh Das were arrested.

Among them, Rupesh, Nathuni, Ramkripal and Vindeshwar are the persons named in the complaint, while others are not named in the complaint, but they are people who play a role in the Panchayat.

Rinku, who went out to defecate on the night of last January 27, was gang-raped by three local youths. She reached home crying the next morning. However, on the 29th and 30th, an attempt was made to resolve the incident in the village by sitting at the Panchayat. 

The panchayat decided to pay a fine of 140,000 from the rapist and not to let the victim go to the police. However, due to the failure of the panchayat, the victim girl was found hanging dead in her house on the evening of 30th amid threats from the perpetrators.
