The local residents have blocked the road since Saturday morning due to the delay in the construction of the Rajviraj-Hanumannagar-Bhardah road.
Vehicles plying through this section of the road have stopped after the locals blocked the road. Locals have said that the road had to be blocked due to the lack of due diligence in the construction of the road even though the time specified for the construction was over and the extended deadline was about to expire.
Earlier, the locals had repeatedly blocked the roads in Topa and Mansapur demanding the construction of that road. According to the tender made by Road Division Office Lahan, Sah Engineering Construction Pvt. Ltd. Shambhunath Saptari awarded the contract for Rs.
Although the construction of the road, which was supposed to be completed by June 2081, started, the work could not take off. The office extended the contract for another year. Even after the deadline extension, the contractor has not speeded up the work. So far, the physical progress of this road has been only 15%. With almost 4 and a half months remaining before the end of the extended period, the fact that only 15% work has been done has highlighted the slowness of road construction.
