In the gang rape and suspicious death of 17-year-old Rinkukumari Sada of Navrajpur Rural Municipality-1 Bhagwatipur in Siraha, the three people have been sentenced for 5 days. The police issued a five-day remand against them from the Siraha District Court on Monday.
The police detained four people for investigation in this incident on Sunday. However, one of them was released after being found innocent and the police said that for the first time a five-day deadline was taken from the court for further investigation on the local Chandeshwar Mandal, Ramvinod Mandal and Kamlesh Das . DSP Birendra Kumar Paswan, the spokesperson of District Police Office, Siraha informed that their involvement in the transaction and settlement after the
rape incident became public.
However, the main accused in the incident have not been arrested yet. After the incident came to light, the police filed a supplementary complaint against the three involved in the rape and five to eight people who tried to settle the incident in the village through panchayats from the victim's family on Thursday last Thursday.
According to SSP Shantiraj Koirala, coordinator of the incident investigation team, three teams of Madhesh state police, district police and Lahan area police are searching for them.
Rinkukumari, who went out to defecate on the night of last January 27, was gang-raped after the kidnapping of Rupesh Mandal, Chandan Sah and Ramvinay Mandal of the village . However, instead of sending the victim to the police, ward members Nathuni Sah, Rampukar Mandal, Rampreet Sah, Ramkripal Mandal, Vindeshwar and others organized a panchayat to settle the incident in the village.
On January 29 and 30, the panchayat in the village hall decided to pay a fine of 140,000 from the victim and not to let the victim go to the police. However, there was a dispute between the relatives of the accused in the Panchayat regarding the payment of money. Then the girl was found dead hanging in her house on 30th evening.
