After the death of a patient at Gaur Center Hospital located in Gaur Municipality-1 of Rautahat, the victim's family has demanded an investigation into the incident along with taking action against the doctor.

18-year-old Lalu Adhikari of Gaur-3 was admitted to Provincial Hospital Gaur on Saturday after stomach ache. After some tests, the hospital's medical officer Dr. Ghanshyam Thakur had said that the patient's intestine had ruptured. According to uncle Devendra, Thakur told him to contact another doctor, Pankaj Saha, saying that the hospital did not have the necessary facilities for treatment. After that, Dr. Sah asked to take him to Gaur Center Hospital, the victim said.

Devendra says that the patient's condition has worsened after he was transferred from the government to a private operation. "After that, we took him to National Medical College Birganj at night," he said, "Why was he referred to a private one from Gaur Provincial Hospital?" Doctors involved in negligence should be punished.'

Regional Hospital Gaur Medical Superintendent Dr. Murari Thakur said that the doctor of the hospital, Pankaj Sahahit, was asked for an explanation. "Even though we have a machine for transporting patients, due to the lack of MD doctors, we have been forced to refer complex surgery patients to Birganj," he said, "We have asked for a written response from the hospital doctors within 24 hours."
