Three Nepali pilgrims who were returning from bathing in the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India, were killed in an accident on a Scorpio on Friday night.
Ward president Shyamanand Chaudhary informed that Lilavati Chaudhary and Parasuram Chaudhary of Kanchanrup Municipality 7 of Saptari were the deceased. Similarly, Jitu Yadav's wife Harihardevi of Ward No. 5 also died in an accident, informed Kailas Sah, Ward President of that ward.
Seven people are seriously injured in the incident. According to Indian media, the accident took place on Gorakhpur Link Road under Bansgaon police station area of Uttar Pradesh. Dainik Bhaskar reported that the body was taken to the district hospital for post-mortem.
The injured are also being treated at the district hospital. According to the police chief of Saptari, SP Dhakendra Khatiwada, the family members informed about the death in the accident on Saturday morning at the Dharampur police station in Saptari and further investigation is underway.
