The provincial police team formed to investigate the gang-rape and death of 17-year-old girl Rinku Kumari Sada of Navrajpur rural municipality-1 Bhagwatipur has also started investigation.
After getting the news about the incident, Madhesh Province Police Office Janakpur formed a five-member investigation team under the leadership of SSP Shantiraj Koirala on Tuesday.
Apart from the district police, the team led by SSP Koirala also reached the victim's house and took information about the incident. Police Inspector Bikram Sah, who is part of the team, said that during the on-site observation, taking statements from the victim's family and locals, it was found that a panchayat was held in the village after the issue of gang-rape was publicized and transactions were also made during the panchayat. He said that he has informed the local police office Lahan who is investigating the case.
Sah informed that the provincial police team is assisting the local police in the investigation and monitoring it. "We give the facts obtained during the investigation and investigation to the local police and help in the investigation and monitor," he said.
