State-of-the-art camera trapping has been set up to monitor tigers in the partnership forest of Parsa district. With the increase in the activity of tigers from the partnership forest in the district, camera trapping has been started to monitor the activity of tigers.

Manjur Ahmed, Divisional Forest Officer of Divisional Forest Office, Parsa, informed that camera trapping has been started at 12 different places to count tigers in the partnership forest of Parsa district.

We have started camera trapping for counting tigers in different partnership forests of Parsa since January 29th. We expect that this will be useful for studying and researching the activities of wild animals such as tigers and leopards in community forests', he said. Similarly, the installation of camera trapping is being done in Rangpur, Bhatouda, one each and in other places as well. Camera trapping will photograph the activities of wild animals including tigers 24 hours a day. The camera has the capacity to take 16 gp photos per day.

Rangpur Subdivision Office Forester Purushottam Prasad Patel expressed his belief that camera trapping will also help in analyzing the activities of tigers and leopards. The camera was installed with the help of WWF.
