Jhalnath Khanal, respected leader of CPN United Samajwadi Party, has said that the ordinance brought by the government is unlikely to be passed by the National Assembly.
Khanal, who is also a former prime minister, said that even though the two major parties in the government have a majority in the House of Representatives, there is no possibility of it being passed by the National Assembly.
Speaking to the media in Saptari's Rajviraj on Tuesday, Khanal said that even when there is a two-thirds majority, the government is wrong to try to run the country through ordinances instead of making laws on a regular basis.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli also commented that he is morally unfit to remain in the government when the ordinance is not passed. He said, "If the ordinance fails, the current government and its leaders will not be morally qualified to continue sitting in the chair." He said, 'Constitution amendment for what? What purpose does the amendment serve? What agriculture Is the amendment for revolution, land reform, poverty alleviation, industrialization, unemployment?
Leader Khanal says that only those who cannot implement the constitution are discussing the amendment.
