At the moment, the local students have started collecting donations in the name of Saraswati Puja by erecting dhats on the roads of the inner villages of the district. The vehicle owners have complained that they are extorting money by forcing the vehicles to be stopped by erecting barriers and if they do not pay, they are naturally obstructing the traffic.
Students have started asking for donations for the Saraswati Puja to be held on the occasion of Shri Panchami on January 21. They used to stop small vehicles and forcefully ask for money to make worship offerings and idols. If you don't pay, they won't let you ride. Younger students are participating in building the platform. At present, some school students here have left their studies and are going to collect donations by raising their dhats.
Teacher Ratna Adhikari of Judibela Mavi in Chandrapur municipality said that the tradition of collecting donations in the name of Saraswati Puja is wrong. "In the past, we used to collect donations," he said, "lately, it was disappearing." Again, in the inner villages, they began to raise the dykes. This should be stopped.'
Even the students did not accept that the teachers including the principal of the school should not collect donations. Even on the main roads, they are collecting donations by erecting platforms. District traffic police chief Lokendra Adhikari said that vehicle accidents happen at such times.
