Due to continuous cold, respiratory diseases have increased in Mahottari. Local hospitals have reported that patients have increased in all parts of the district.

There has been an increase in the number of patients in the provincial hospital located at the headquarters Jaleshwar. In the past seven days  More than 100 patients are coming for treatment every day, the medical superintendent of the hospital Dr. Vikas Kumar Sah said.

He said that asthma patients have increased due to cold. Among the patients who come for treatment are children under the age of five and people over the age of 60. 

Bardibas Hospital has also seen an increase in patients. Dr. Sudeep Kumar Thakur, Medical Superintendent of Bardibas Hospital, informed that 110 to 125 patients are coming every day with the onset of Magh.

Dr. Thakur said that the number of women coming here for treatment is more. District Health Office Chief and Senior Health Administrator Nawalkishore Sah informed that the number of patients has also increased in the district's Gaushala and Dakshivarti Samsi primary treatment centers.
